The company's Consumer segment creates products that provide access to the information consumers need to make decisions. It offers navigation devices such as global positioning system (GPS) enabled sports watches that provide at-a-glance performance information for runners, cyclists and swimmers. In FY2016, the Consumer segment reported revenues of EUR563.2 million, which accounted for 57.0% of the company's total revenue.
TomTom through Automotive segment develops and sells pre-integrated connected navigation system, navigation systems, connected navigation system (CNS), services and content including maps, traffic and software to car manufacturers. In FY2016, the Automotive segment reported revenues of EUR132.6 million, which accounted for 13.4% of the company's total revenue.
The company's Licensing segment is engaged in delivering maps, traffic related content, and location based services to PND manufacturers, internet companies, mobile phone handset manufacturers, network operators, and governments and enterprises. It also offers cloud-based products that allow developers to create location-enabled applications for businesses and governments. In FY2016, the Licensing segment reported revenues of EUR136.3 million, which accounted for 13.8% of the company's total revenue.
TomTom through its Telematics segment offers a software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution, WEBFLEET platform, used by a range of businesses to improve vehicle performance, save fuel, support drivers and increase overall fleet efficiency to 700,000 subscriptions. In FY2016, the Telematics segment reported revenues of EUR155.1 million, which accounted for 15.7% of the company's total revenue.
Geographically, the company classifies its operations into three segments, namely Europe, North America and Rest of world. In FY2016, Europe segment accounted for 76.7% of the company's total revenues, followed by North America with 18.5% and Rest of world with 4.9%.
