Thomas Cook Group (TCG or 'the group') offers charter packages (two or more components of travel such as flights, hotels, transfers and representative services are bundled together), independent travel management, and travel-related financial services (pre-paid foreign exchange, travel assurance and travel finances). The group primarily operates in Europe. As of September 30, 2016, its operations are supported by a fleet of 94 aircraft and a network of over 2,957 owned and franchised travel stores. The group manages its operations in 16 countries through four geographic segments: Continental Europe; the UK and Ireland; Northern Europe; and Airlines Germany. The Continental Europe segment includes TCG's businesses in Germany, France, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Russia. It operates 2,163 retail outlets, five aircraft and covers 6.6 million passengers under Thomas Cook, Smartline, Neckermann, Oger Tours, Sentido, Sunconnect Resorts, Sunprime Hotels, Sunwing Family Resorts, air marin, and Bucher brands. As of September 30, 2016, the Continental Europe segment recorded revenues of £3,435 million ($4,536.2 million), an increase of 0.5% compared to FY2015. The UK and Ireland segment operates 790 retail outlets and 33 aircraft offering services to over 5.8 million customers. The group operates in this segment under Thomas Cook, Airtours, Hotels4u, flexibletrips, Cresta, Escapades, Club18-30 and Direct Holidays brands. The UK segment recorded revenues of £2,365 million ($3,123.2 million) in FY2016, a decrease of 1.6% compared to FY2015. The Northern Europe segment includes operations in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. The segment caters to 1.6 million passengers through its four retail outlets and 11 aircrafts. It offers its services under Spies, Ving, Globetrotter, and Tjareborg brand names. The Northern Europe segment recorded revenues of £1,132 million ($1,494.9 million) in FY2016, an increase of 8.7% compared to FY2015. The group's Airlines Germany segment operates under the Condor brand. The segment operates 45 aircraft and covers 7.3 million passengers. The Airlines Germany segment recorded revenues of £1,253 million ($1,654.7 million) in FY2016, an increase of 28.9% compared to FY2015.
