The Lubrizol Additives segment is comprised of six product lines: driveline products; engine oil products; viscosity modifiers; fuel products; industrial products; and specialty solutions. The driveline additives product line of the segment includes products such as transmission fluids, automatic gear oils and off-highway fluids for on- and off-road driveline applications. The company's engine oil additives are designed to protect both modern, high-tech engines and older vehicles operating under a variety of routine and heavy duty environmental conditions. Lubrizol’s technologies provide greater efficiency and fuel economy, and reduced emissions without compromising durability or engine life. Lubrizol’s viscosity modifiers are polymer technologies that bring significant performance improvement to lubricants. It enhances the polymers that improve the efficiency, durability, cleanliness and protection of engines, transmissions, gear boxes, hydraulic systems and more. The company's fuel additives product line offers a range of gasoline, diesel, biofuel and residual fuel additives that improve fuel system cleanliness, prevent wear and corrosion, improve the combustion and flow features of refined products. The industrial additives product line offers fluids used in the hydraulic, industrial gears, turbines, grease, refrigeration, metal processing and metal protection industries. Lubrizol’s specialty solutions consists of ADEX Emulsifiers. This is mainly used in the in the mining, quarrying and civil construction industries for emulsion explosives. Lubrizol’s AMPS Specialty Monomers enable polymer producers to manufacture unique, water-soluble polymers for use in a wide range of consumer, medical and industrial products. The Lubrizol Advanced Materials segment is comprised of four primary product lines: life science, engineered polymers, performance coatings, and personal and home care. The Lubrizol life science polymers product line offers products used in advanced wound care applications (dressing pads, films and scaffolds); long-term and short-term implants; medical device; and oral care products. The Lubrizol life science polymers product line also manufactures excipients that are used in both prescription and over-the-counter drug products to control drug release and improve efficiency. Lubrizol's engineered polymers is a global supplier of engineered polymer resins and compounds sold under several trademarks, including Estane, Isoplast, Estaloc and EstaGrip engineered polymers. It also offers Carbo-Rite conductive compounds, Stat-Rite polymer alloys, and Solplus hyper-dispersants. The performance coatings product line offers a portfolio of resins and additives, surface modifiers and hyper-dispersants. These products are further used to formulate paints, coatings and adhesives, graphic arts, and engineered substrates (textiles, specialty papers and nonwovens). Lubrizol's personal and home care business offers a range of specialty ingredients for use in personal care as well as household, institutional and industrial (HI&I) formulations. The Lubrizol Oilfield Solutions segment is an advanced technology solutions provider to all phases of oilfield activity, including exploration, production and transportation. The segment is divided into oilfield chemistry and pipeline flow improvers. Under oilfield chemistry business, Lubrizol offers surface wear, surface modification and fluid flow technologies. It delivers chemistry expertise to help keep oilfield projects on track, complex operations running smoothly and critical production objectives on target. The flow improver business, owned by Berkshire Hathaway and overseen by Lubrizol, specializes in maximizing the flow potential of pipelines, resulting in increased operational flexibility, throughput capacity and bottom-line results.
