The company operates 186 facilities, 15 hospice companies, 18 home health and home care agencies in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.
The company operates through three segments: Transitional and Skilled Services; Assisted and Independent Living Services; and Home Health and Hospice Services.
Ensign's Transitional and Skilled Services segment provides skilled nursing facilities at 170 operations, with 17,724 operational beds, in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin by providing medical, nursing, rehabilitative, pharmacy and routine services, including daily dietary, social and recreational services. In FY2016, the Transitional And Skilled Services segment reported revenues of USD1,377.7 Million, which accounted for 83.3% of the company's total revenue including eliminations.
The company's Assisted and Independent Living Services provides assisted and independent living services at 61 operations with 4,450 units by providing residential accommodations, activities, meals, security, housekeeping and assistance in the activities of daily living to seniors who are independent. In FY2016, the Assisted And Independent Living Services segment reported revenues of USD123.6 Million, which accounted for 7.5% of the company's total revenue.
Ensign Home Health and Hospice Services segment is engaged in home health, home care and hospice businesses. Its health care services include nursing, speech, occupational and physical therapists, medical social workers and certified home health aide services. Its hospice services focus on the physical, spiritual and psychosocial needs of terminally ill individuals and their families. It primarily consists of palliative and clinical care, education and counseling. In FY2016, the Home Health And Hospice Services segment reported revenues of USD115.8 Million, which accounted for 7.0% of the company's total revenue.
In FY2016, the Others segment reported revenues of USD42.8 Million, which accounted for 2.6% of the company's total revenue.
The company's subsidiaries include Apache Trail Healthcare, Atlantic Memorial Healthcare Associates, Avenues Healthcare, Bainbridge Health Holdings, Bayshore Healthcare, Cornet Limited, Inc., Dorothy Health Holdings LLC and Ensign Cloverdale LLC.
