HVAL products support applications such as automotive safety devices, touch screen controllers, low voltage motor drivers and integrated motor controllers. The company's power products include catalog products and ASSPs that help customers manage power in electronic systems. The company's portfolio of power products are designed to enhance the efficiency of powered devices using battery management solutions, portable power conversion devices, power supply controls and point-of-load products. Texas Instruments' HPA products include catalog analog products, including high-speed data converters, amplifiers, sensors, high reliability products, interface products and precision analog products. These solutions with long life cycles, often more than 10 years are used by customers in high performance manufacturing. The company's SVA products include a portfolio of industrial, high-voltage power management, data converter, interface and operational amplifier catalog products used in manufacturing a range of electronic systems. SVA products support applications such as video and data interface products, high voltage power conversion and mobile lighting and display systems. As of December 31, 2016, the analog business segment contributed revenue of US$8,536 million or 63.8% of the company’s total revenue. The company's embedded processing segment offers products which are designed to handle specific tasks and can be optimized for various combinations of performance, power and cost, depending on the application. The devices vary from simple products used in electric toothbrushes to highly specialized, complex devices used in automotive applications such as infotainment systems and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). The segment’s major product lines include processors, microcontrollers and connectivity solutions. The company's processor product portfolio includes digital signal processors (DSPs) and applications processors. The company's microcontroller products are self-contained systems with a processor core, memory and peripherals that are designed to control a set of specific tasks for electronic equipment. The company's connectivity products enable electronic devices to seamlessly connect and transfer data, and the requirements for speed, data capability, distance and power vary depending on the application. The company's connectivity products support many wireless technologies, including low-power wireless network standards such as Zigbee and other technologies such as Bluetooth, wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi) and global positioning system (GPS). As of December 31, 2016, the embedded processing segment contributed revenue of US$3,023 million or 22.6% of the company’s total revenue. The company's other business segment includes smaller product lines such as digital light processing (DLP) primarily used in projectors to create high-definition (HD) images, and certain custom semiconductors known as application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) and calculators. It also includes royalties received for Texas Instruments' patented technology that it licenses to other electronics companies. As of December 31, 2016, the other business segment contributed revenue of US$1,811 million or 13.6% of the company’s total revenue. Texas Instruments classifies its geographic operations into five regions: the US; Asia; Europe, Middle East and Africa; Japan; and Rest of the world. In FY2016, Asia region accounted for 60% of the total revenue of the company followed by Europe with 17.9%, the US with 12.6%, Japan with 7.8% and Rest of the world with 1.7% revenue.
