Tessenderlo's Agro segment is engaged in production and marketing of crop nutrients (liquid crop fertilizers and potassium sulfate fertilizers) and crop protection products. In FY2016, the Agro segment reported revenues of EUR572.0 million, which accounted for 36.0% of the company's total revenue.
The group's Bio-Valorization segment includes gelatin and akiolis businesses. Gelatin business is engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of gelatins, and akiolis business is engaged in collecting and processing animal by-products. In FY2016, the Bio-Valorization segment reported revenues of EUR494.4 million, which accounted for 31.1% of the company's total revenue.
Tessenderlo's Industrial Solutions segment is engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of solutions for industrial applications, including water management and solutions for the mining industry. The segment includes plastic pipe systems, mining and industrial, water treatment, MPR/ECS and sulfur derivatives businesses. In FY2016, the Industrial Solutions segment reported revenues of EUR476.9 million, which accounted for 30.0% of the company's total revenue.
In FY2016, the Other segment reported revenues of EUR47.6 million, which accounted for 3.0% of the company's total revenue.
Plastic pipe systems business provides solutions in plastic pipe systems for utilities, agricultural, building and civil engineering markets. This offers pre-assembled piping kits, project consultancy services and engineering for respiratory ventilation systems, sewage and rainwater management systems, and syphonic roof drainage systems. Mining and industrial business is engaged in the production and sales of mining and industrial chemicals.
Water treatment business produces inorganic water treatment chemicals such as ferric chloride, aluminum chloride, sodium hypochlorite and hydrochloric acid. MPR/ECS business is engaged in the delivery of services for the treatment and disposal of fracking water (ECS) and on-site optimization of environmental control systems (MPR).
Geographically, the company classifies its operations into nine segments, namely Belgium, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom, Other European countries, US, Rest of the world. In FY2016, Belgium segment accounted for 6.0% of the company's total revenues, followed by The Netherlands with 10.3%; France with 17.0%; Germany with 2.7%; Spain with 3.2%; United Kingdom with 5.4%; Other European countries with 7.3%; US with 33.1%; and Rest of the world with 14.8%.
Tessenderlo's subsidiaries include Tessenderlo Kerley Inc, Dyka s.r.o., PB Leiner Argentina SA, Tessenderlo Trading (Shanghai) Co Ltd, BTH Fitting Kft, MPR Services Inc, John Davidson Pipes Ltd, Dyka Plastics NV, ICL Fertilizers, PB Gelatins UK Ltd. and Limburgse Rubber Produkten NV.
