Television Francaise 1 SA (TF1 or "the group") is an integrated media group offering five freeview channels, various pay-TV channels as well as their digital offshoots. In addition, the group has diversified into other areas, including the web, audiovisual rights, production, home shopping, e-commerce, licenses, and board games.
The group operates through four business segments: broadcasting and content, consumer services, pay-TV, and holding company and other.
TF1's broadcasting and content segment includes all services that are accessible to consumers free of charge. These activities generate revenue primarily from the sale of advertising space on broadcast media and the Internet. The segment offers broadcasting services through various channels, including TF1 channel, TMC, NT1, HD1, e-TF1, and TF1 Publicite. The TF1 channel offers family-oriented, event-based programming addressing major themes, ranging from news, light entertainment, drama and sports to feature films, youth programs, magazines and documentaries. TMC is one of the leading free-to-air digital terrestrial television (DTT) channel offering broadcasting films, investigative reports, inside stories, and entertainment programmes comprising comedy shows and drama series. NT1 is for audience between the age group of 15 to 34 and primarily targets female audiences. Its programs focuses on light entertainment, magazine programmes and drama series, and films popular with youngsters. HD1 is a storytelling channel dedicated to cinema, series, drama and narrative programmes. eTF1 handles the digital distribution of TF1 channel products through the MYTF1 brand. It offers a range of catch-up programs available through the web, smartphones and tablets and included in the TV offers of the main internet service providers (ISP) in France. In addition, it manages interactive systems for the TF1 channel (Audiotel, text messages) in the form of games and votes. The group's TF1 Publicite is a multimedia advertising sales agency providing advertising space on TV channels, including Numero 23 and beIN SPORTS. It also offers advertising space on websites, including MYTF1.fr, MYTF1 News, TFou.fr, Automoto.fr, Bouyguestelecom.fr, metronews.fr, and Finder studio. Furthermore, the group offers Metronews, a free news media which can be accessed over the internet, mobile apps, smartphones, and tablets.
Content services are offered through TF1 Droits Audiovisuels, TF1 Production, and TF1 Films Production. In France, TF1 Droits Audiovisuels distributes films for the cinema. It also offers a portfolio of audiovisual rights, marketed through the subsidiary's catalogue of films and TV drama. TF1 production includes a Magazines Department that produces magazine programs; Entertainment, Games and Reality TV Department that is responsible for entertainment programming; Drama Department that develops and produces standalone dramas; Sports Department that produces sporting events; Short Format Department that manages the production of all the trailers for the TF1 channel, designs and shoots adverts, and oversees promotional operations, billboards and short programs; and an Animated Film Department which offers animated series. TF1 Films Production is engaged in co-producing and buying feature films.
The group offers consumer services through TF1 Video, Teleshopping and TF1 Enterprises. TF1 Video is a video publishing subsidiary of the group offering content across various genres, including French and international cinema, comedy stars, youth programming and TV series. Teleshopping is a home shopping player in France operating through Teleshopping and Euroshopping brands. Teleshopping operates teleshopping through programs broadcast on TF1, catalogues, stores, and websites. Euroshopping broadcasts infomercials on various free-to-air, cable and satellite DTT channels. TF1 Enterprises is a diversification and development subsidiary, responsible for publishing and distribution activities. It works in five areas, including music, entertainment, licenses, games/toys and collections.
TF1's pay TV segment includes its offerings through theme channels in France which include LCI, TV Breizh, and Discovery Division. LCI is a 24 hour news channel covering live news events. TV Breizh offers TV series and dramas for families. The group's Discovery Division comprises of TF1's pay-TV documentary channels, including Histoire that broadcasts documentaries, magazine programmes, docureality programmes and historical films; and Ushuaia TV shows content related to wonders of nature.
The holding company and other segment of the group includes entities that carry TF1's property assets, including SERIECLUB, a channel broadcasted via cable, satellite and main independent networks; AB GROUP, an independent publisher of Pay-TV channels and services; and Newen, a major audiovisual producer and distributor in France,
