The company operates through three business segments: Photographic Products, Optical Components and Commercial/Industrial-use Optics. The Photographic Products segment offers interchangeable lenses for 35 mm (millimeter)/ digital SLR (single-lens reflex) cameras; and for non-reflex type cameras. In FY2016, the Photographic Products segment reported revenues of JPY46,805.0 million, which accounted for 78.1% of the company's total revenue. The company’s Optical Components segment produces camcorder lenses, digital still camera lenses, infrared camera lenses, and optical device units. In FY2016, the Optical Components segment reported revenues of JPY2,358.0 million, which accounted for 3.9% of the company's total revenue. The Commercial/Industrial-use optics segment provides CCTV (closed-circuit television) camera lenses for surveillance, industrial vision, and image-processing. It also provides automotive lenses, test plates, high precision molds, and injection-molded parts and components. In FY2016, the Commercial/Industrial-use Optics segment reported revenues of JPY10,739.0 million, which accounted for 17.9% of the company's total revenue. The company's subsidiaries include the following: Tamron USA, Inc.; TAMRON OPTICAL (SHANGHAI); Tamron Europe; Tamron France; TAMRON INDUSTRIES (HONG KONG); TAMRON OPTICAL (FOSHAN); and TAMRON (Russia).
