It also provides synthetic menthol and menthol derivatives for use in mint and gums, toothpaste, mouthwashes, breath fresheners and medicinal products. In FY2016, the Flavors segment reported revenues of JPY84,051.0 million, which accounted for 59.3% of the company's total revenue.

The company's Fragrances division creates fragrances for perfumes, cosmetics, shampoos, detergents, air fresheners and bath products. Takasago offers a range of perfumes and colognes. Takasago's Aroma Ingredients division develops synthetic aroma chemicals. It is also engaged in asymmetric synthesis of l -Menthol and menthol-derived Sensates brand sensory materials. The company provides products under the brand name Chiraroma. In FY2016, the Aroma Ingredients segment reported revenues of JPY11,430.0 million, which accounted for 8.1% of the company's total revenue.

The company's Fine Chemicals division develops and produces intermediates that support life science and electronics industries. The company's asymmetric ligands, SEGPHOS and BINAP, are used in the production of medicines for lifestyle-related diseases, infectious diseases and central nervous system degenerative diseases. In FY2016, the Fine Chemicals segment reported revenues of JPY6,039.0 million, which accounted for 4.3% of the company's total revenue.

In addition, Takasago operates other businesses, including the real estate business. In FY2016, the Other segment reported revenues of JPY1,390.0 million, which accounted for 1.0% of the company's total revenue.
