Alamo Group, Inc. is a US-based manufacturer of agricultural equipment and infrastructure maintenance equipment. It primarily manufactures, distributes and services tractor-mounted mowing and other vegetation maintenance equipment, street sweepers, excavators, vacuum trucks, snow removal equipment, pothole patchers, zero turn radius mowers (ZTRs), agricultural implements and related aftermarket parts and services.

The company operates 24 plants in North America, Europe, Australia, and Brazil. The company operates through three operating segments: Industrial, Agricultural, and European. Alamo's Industrial segment offers tractor- and truck-mounted mowers, as well as, sweepers, excavators, vacuum trucks, snow removal equipment and ice control products. Its products are marketed under the Alamo Industrial, Tiger, Schwarze Industries, NiteHawk Sweepers, Everest, Gradall, Terrain King, VacAll, Super Products, Wausau Equipment, Henke, Tenco, and HP Fairfield brands.

In FY2016, the Industrial segment reported revenues of $484.1 million, which accounted for 57.3% of the company's total revenue. Alamo industrial equipment includes hydraulically-powered, tractor-mounted mowers, including boom-mounted mowers, other types of cutters and replacement parts for heavy-duty, intensive use applications, including maintenance around highway, airport, recreational and other public areas.

Tiger brand includes heavy duty, tractor- and truck-mounted mowing and vegetation maintenance equipment and replacement parts. Schwarze equipment includes truck-mounted air, mechanical broom, and regenerative air sweepers, pothole patchers, and replacement parts.

In addition, the Nite-Hawk brand manufactures parking lot sweepers with unique and innovative hydraulic designs. Gradall produces hydraulic telescoping booms, which are mounted on various types of undercarriages: wheels for full-speed highway travel, wheels for on/off road use, and crawlers. Furthermore, the company's VacAll brand manufactures catch basin cleaners, roadway debris vacuum systems and sewer cleaners. Super Products brand produces truck-mounted vacuum trucks, combination sewer cleaners and hydro excavators. It operates a network of five rental stores that provide short and long-term rental contracts for its products.

Wausau-Everest designs and manufactures a broad range of municipal snow removal and ice control products. It also manufactures a range of high-capacity snow blowers, plows, brooms, brine sprayers and prime movers and sells directly to airports and fixed-base operators. Henke designs and manufactures snow plows and heavy-duty snow removal equipment, hitches and attachments for trucks, loaders and graders sold primarily through independent truck and industrial equipment dealers. Tenco designs and manufactures a line of heavy duty snow removal equipment, including truck-mounted snow plows, snow blowers, dump bodies and spreaders.

H. P. Fairfield is a full-service distributor of public works and runway maintenance products, parts and service, whose sales and service outlets. The company's Agricultural segment offers loaders, backhoes, tillers, post-hole diggers, and sod-cutting equipment. Its products are offered under the brand names of Bush Hog, Rhino, Earthmaster, Herschel, Valu-Bilt, Schulte, Fieldquip and Superior, and Herder. In FY2016, the Agricultural segment reported revenues of $205.8 million, which accounted for 24.4% of the company's total revenue.

Bush Hog and Rhino equipment principally consists of tractor-powered equipment, including rotary cutters, finishing mowers, flail mowers, disc mowers, zero turn radius mowers, front-end loaders, backhoes, rotary tillers, posthole diggers, scraper blades, and replacement parts. This equipment is primarily sold through farm equipment dealers, as well as original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and other distributors. Bush Hog, Rhino, and Earthmaster equipment is generally sold to farmers and ranchers to clear brush, maintain pastures and unused farmland, shred crops and till fields, and for haymaking.

The equipment is also sold to other customers, such as mowing contractors and construction contractors, for non-agricultural purposes. Herschel products include a range of cutting parts, plain and hard-faced replacement tillage tools, disc blades and fertilizer application components. Herschel replacement tools and parts are sold throughout the US, Canada and Mexico to five major customer groups, including farm equipment dealers, fleet stores, wholesale distributors, OEMs, and construction equipment dealers. Valu-Bilt complements the Herschel product lines while also expanding the company's offering of aftermarket agricultural parts and added catalog and internet sales direct to end-users. Schulte serves both the agricultural and governmental markets primarily in Canada and the US. Its equipment includes heavy-duty mechanical rotary mowers, snow blowers, rock removal equipment and related replacement parts. Fieldquip and Superior sell a variety of agricultural equipment specifically, rotary mowers and tractor attachments.

Herder manufactures and distributes flail mowers and various other agricultural equipment, direct and through dealers. Its products are used in sugar cane, orchards, and other agricultural markets. Alamo's European segment offers a range of conventional hedge and grass cutters, as well as other tractor attachments and implements such as hydraulic backhoes, cultivators, subsoilers, buckets and other digger implements and related replacement parts through McConnel, Bomford, Twose, Kellands, SMA, Forges Gorce, Faucheux, Rousseau, and Rivard brands.

In FY2016, the European segment reported revenues of $154.8 million, which accounted for 18.3% of the company's total revenue. McConnel equipment includes a broad line of hydraulic, boom-mounted hedge and grass cutters, as well as other tractor attachments and implements such as hydraulic backhoes, cultivators, sub-soilers, buckets and other digger implements and related replacement parts.

McConnel equipment is sold primarily in the UK, Ireland, France, and in other parts of Europe through independent dealers and distributors. Bomford equipment includes hydraulic, boom-mounted hedge and hedgerow cutters, industrial grass mowers, agricultural seedbed preparation cultivators and related replacement parts. Bomford equipment is sold to governmental agencies, contractors and agricultural end-users in the UK, Ireland and France and other countries in Europe, North America, Australia, and Asia.

SMA equipment includes hydraulic, boom-mounted hedge and hedgerow cutters and related replacement parts as well as quick-attach boom mowers. SMA's principal customers are French local authorities. Forges Gorce manufactures cutting blades that are sold to some of the company's subsidiaries as well as to other customers. Faucheux equipment includes front-end loaders, backhoes, attachments, and related parts.

Faucheux also market certain agricultural related products from other company units and third party suppliers. Rousseau brand sells hydraulic and mechanical boom mowers primarily in France, through its own sales force and dealer distribution network to agricultural and governmental markets. Rivard manufactures vacuum trucks, high pressure cleaning systems and trenchers. Additionally, the company offers Spearhead brand of rotary cutters.

The company also sells replacement parts for each of its product lines. Geographically, the company classifies its operations into six segments, namely the US, the UK, France, Canada, Australia and Other. In FY2016, the US accounted for 72.8% of the company's total revenues, followed by the UK with 5.3%; France with 9.4%; Canada with 5.7%; Australia with 1.6%; and Other with 5.2%.
