Dufry AG (Dufry) is a Switzerland-based travel retailer that is engaged in operating shops in airports, cruise lines, seaports, railway stations and other touristic locations. The company operates in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas. The company's outlets are categorized according to four retail concepts: general travel retail outlets, news and convenience stores, brand boutiques, and specialized shops. Dufry, through its general travel retail outlets, offers traditional assortment of a range of products, including tobacco, alcoholic beverage, food and confectionary, and perfumes and cosmetics. The general travel retail shops are located in both arrival and departure areas in airports. In each location, the product assortment, shop lay-outs and operations are differentiated to the respective customer profiles and spending patterns. The news and convenience stores focuses on passengers, whose behavior is based on impulse and convenience shopping. The company operates its news and convenience stores under the brand, Hudson News. These stores offer a core assortment of newspapers, magazines and books, complemented by several products such as confectionary, soft drinks travel electronics. The company operates international brand boutiques for different brands such as Hermes, Armani, Victoria's Secret, Lacoste, Omega and Bvlgary. Dufry's specialized shops operate in particular markets and segments. Its concept includes Colombian Emeralds International (CEI) shops focused on the Caribbean market for jewelry, watches and accessories assortments. The specialized shops operate in locations such as airports, seaports, hotels or downtown. Other specialized shops focus on different product categories, such as confectionary, electronics and others. As of December 2016, the company had 425,000 sq mts of retail space, 2,200 shops with 380 locations in 64 countries. The company operates through five segments namely Southern Europe and Africa, UK, Central and Eastern Europe, Asia, Middle East and Australia, Latin America, North America and Distribution Centers. In FY2016, UK, Central and Eastern Europe, accounted for 26.6%, followed by Southern Europe and Africa with 21.7%, North America (21.2%), Latin America (19.6%), Asia, Middle East and Australia (9.9%) and the Distribution centers accounted for 1% of the company’s total revenue, excluding internal revenue/eliminations. In FY2016, perfumes and cosmetics accounted for 32% of company’s total sales followed by confectionery, catering and food (17%), wine and spirits (15%), tobacco goods (11%), luxury goods (12%), electronics (3%), literature and publications (3%), and other goods (7%). The company's subsidiaries include the following: Dufry International AG, Dufry Corporate AG, Dufry Holdings & Investments AG, Airport Management Services, LLC, Dufry Lojas Francas Ltda, Dufry Management AG, Dufry Samnaun AG, Dufry France SA, Navinten SA and HG National JV.
