The company operates in Malaysia. The company operates its business through three segments: automotive; services; and property, asset and construction. DRB-HICOM's automotive segment is involved in the manufacture of components and the assembly and distribution of cars, trucks and motorcycles for the passenger, commercial, mass transport and defense automotive markets. In addition, the company is also involved as an importer and service provider for CBU and CKD vehicles as well as pre-delivery inspection. The company provides after sales support for a range of vehicles including motorcycles to passenger, commercial, defense and customized vehicles such as buses, ambulances, police vehicles, fire trucks and garbage compactors. In FY2017, the automotive segment reported revenue of MYR 8,077 million, which accounted for 67% of company’s total revenue. The company's services segment provides a range of services, including concession services such as vehicle inspection, solid waste management, airport ground handling business and operations and maintenance services of a power plant; banking services such as Islamic banking and related financial services; insurance services such as general and life insurance services; postal services such as mail, courier and retail; integrated logistics and inventory solutions; and higher education and vocational training institution, as well as engaged in the trading in engineering products. In FY2017, the services segment reported revenue of MYR 3,553 million, which accounted for 29.5% of company’s total revenue. DRB-HICOM's property, asset and construction segment is engaged in property holding, development and construction works and assets management services. The company is engaged in the development of residential properties, commercial properties, industry properties, integrated townships and hospitality properties. In FY2017, the property, asset and construction segment reported revenue of MYR 427 million, which accounted for 3.5% of company’s total revenue. The company's subsidiaries include HICOM Diecastings Sdn. Bhd., DRB-HICOM Auto Solutions Sdn. Bhd., HICOM University College Sdn. Bhd., HICOM Builders Sdn. Bhd., Oriental Summit Industries Sdn. Bhd., and DRB-HICOM Defence Technologies Sdn. Bhd, among others.
