The company operates in the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific.
The company operates through two segments: Engine Products and Industrial Products.
Donaldson's Engine Products segment offers air filtration systems, exhaust and emissions systems, liquid filtration systems including hydraulics, fuel and lube application, and replacement filters. The segment sells its products to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the construction, mining, agriculture, aerospace, and defense, and truck markets and to independent distributors, OEM dealer networks, private label accounts, and large equipment fleets. The segment further classifies its products into four divisions: off-road products, on-road products, aftermarket products, and aerospace and defense products. In FY2016, the Engine Products segment reported revenues of $1,391.3 million, which accounted for 62.7% of the company's total revenue.
The company's Industrial Products segment provides dust, fume, and mist collectors; compressed air purification systems; air filtration systems for gas turbines; polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane based products; and specialized air and gas filtration systems for applications, including computer hard disk drives and semi-conductor manufacturing. The segment provides its products to various industrial dealers, distributors, OEMs of gas-fired turbines, and OEMs and end-users requiring filtration solutions and replacement filters. The segment's products are further classified into three divisions: industrial filtration solutions products, gas turbine products, and special applications Products. In FY2016, the Industrial Products segment reported revenues of $829 million, which accounted for 37.3% of the company's total revenue.
In FY2016, the company had nine distribution centers located in Wyong, Australia; Brugge, Belgium; Sao Paulo, Brazil; Rensselaer, Indiana; Jakarta, Indonesia; Aguascalientes, Mexico; Johannesburg, South Africa; Lozorno, Slovakia; and Seoul, South Korea.
Geographically, the company classifies its operations into four segments, namely the US, Europe, Asia Pacific and Other. In FY2016, the US accounted for 42.2% of the company's total revenues, followed by Europe with 28.5%; Asia Pacific with 20.3%; and Other with 9%.
