DCW is an India-based chemicals manufacturing company, which is engaged in the manufacturing and trading of chemical products, including soda ash, sodium bicarbonate, caustic soda, liquid chlorine, hydrochloric acid, upgraded ilmenite, trichloroethylene, ferric chloride, Utox, yellow iron oxide, ammonium bi-carbonate and poly vinyl chloride (PVC) resins. The company primarily operates in India. It has two units at Sahupuram, Tamilnadu and Dhrangadhra, Gujarat of India.
The company operates its business through three segments: PVC, chloro alkali (caustic soda), synthetic iron oxide pigment (SIOP) and soda ash.
DCW offers caustic soda that is primarily used in the manufacture of pulp and paper, newsprint, viscose yarn, staple fiber, aluminum, cotton, textiles, toilet and laundry soaps, detergents, dyestuffs, drugs and pharmaceuticals, vanaspati and in petroleum refining.
The company offers liquid chlorine that is used in manufacturing vinyls, pharmaceuticals, water disinfectants, agrochemicals, additives in oil and detergents, refrigerants, photographic chemicals, adhesives, inks and coatings. It is also used in the manufacture of Trichloro and Perchloro Ethylene.
DCW offers hydrochloric acid (HCl) that is used in pickling of steel to remove rust or iron oxide scale from iron or steel before processing, production of organic and inorganic compounds, pH control and neutralization and regeneration of ion exchangers. It also used in leather processing, purification of common salt, household cleaning and building construction applications.
The company offers beneficiated ilmenite that is used in pigments and for the production of titanium metal. It offers trichloroethylene (TCE) applied in metal de-greasing, dry cleaning, drying electronic parts. It is also used as extraction solvent for oils, fats, waxes, and as refrigerant and fumigant.
DCW offers yellow iron oxide that is primarily used as a pigment. It provides ferric chloride, an industrial scale commodity chemical compound, used in sewage treatment and production of drinking water. The company offers Utox, which is a pigment with 89% to 92% titanium dioxide (TiO2) content, mainly used in industrial paints and power coatings.
The company also produces poly vinyl chloride (PVC) from vinyl chloride monomer by suspension polymerization process. It is applied in insulation of cables, in pipes and hoses, agricultural products, windows and profiles, flooring tiles, curtains and other applications. The company offers soda ash, also known as washing soda or sodium carbonate (Na2CO3), a sodium salt of carbonic acid. It is primarily used for manufacture of detergent powder, cake, glass, effluent treatment, water treatment, in pulp and paper manufacture, in dyes, dye intermediates, brine purification, ore refining, cooling agents, pesticides, drug intermediaries, paper and chemicals.
DCW manufactures sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) that is used in a variety of sectors, including foods and animal feeds, domestic applications and personal hygiene, among others. It also offers ammonium bicarbonate (NH4HCO3) that is primarily used in the food industry as a raising agent for flat-baked goods, such as gingerbread.
The company manufactures and exports synthetic iron oxide pigment (SIOP) and calcium chloride.
DCW has a wholly owned subsidiary, DCW Pigment Limited.
