Curtiss-Wright Corporation (Curtiss-Wright) is a multinational provider of highly engineered, technologically advanced, products and services to a broad range of industries. The company's principal manufacturing facilities are located in the US (New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania), Canada and the UK. Curtiss-Wright operates through three segments, namely, Commercial/Industrial, Defense and Power. Curtiss-Wright's Commercial and Industrial segment consists of businesses that provide engineered products and services supporting applications across the aerospace, automotive and general industrial markets. Its products include vehicle products such as electronic throttle control devices and transmission shifters; sensors, controls and electro-mechanical actuation components and utility systems used on commercial aircraft; surface technology services such as shot peening, laser peening, coatings and advanced testing; and valves primarily to the industrial and naval defense markets. This segment also provides industrial pressure relief management systems to the oil and gas and petrochemical industries. In FY2016, the Commercial/Industrial segment reported revenue of US$1,118.8 million, which accounted for 53.05% of the company’s total revenue. The company's defense segment is comprised of businesses that primarily provide products to the defense markets and to a lesser extent the commercial aerospace market. This segment provides a diversified offering of products including: Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) embedded computing board level modules, integrated subsystems, flight test equipment, instrumentation and control systems, turret aiming and stabilization products, and weapons handling systems. It also provide avionics and electronics, flight test equipment, and aircraft data management solutions to the commercial aerospace market. In FY2016, the Defense segment reported revenue of US$466.7 million, which accounted for 22.13% of the company’s total revenue. Curtiss-Wright's power segment is comprised of businesses that primarily provide products to the power generation markets and to a lesser extent the naval defense market. This segment provides a diversified offering of products, including a wide range of hardware, pumps, valves, fastening systems, specialized containment doors, airlock hatches, spent fuel management products, and fluid sealing technologies for nuclear power plants and nuclear equipment manufacturers. The company's other products within the power segment include main coolant pumps, power-dense compact motors, generators, and secondary propulsion systems. In FY2016, the Power segment reported revenue of US$543.5 million, which accounted for 24.82% of the company’s total revenue. Geographically, the company classifies its operations into three segments: the US, the UK and other foreign countries. In FY2016, the US accounted for 69.9% of its total revenue, followed by the UK (5.4%) and other foreign countries (24.7%). The company's subsidiaries include Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Corporation, Curtiss-Wright Controls, Metal Improvement Company, Curtiss-Wright Electro-Mechanical Corporation, and Dy4 Systems.
