The company in cooperation with international oil companies is involved in exploration various concession areas distributed among eight countries including Australia, Chad, Libya, Ecuador, Indonesia, Niger, Republic of Congo and the US.
The company's downstream activities include importation and refining of crude. CPC operates three refineries that include Kaohsiung plant, Dalin refinery, and Taoyuan refinery. The company's three refineries have a combined daily capacity of around 720,000 barrels-per-day (bpd). CPC's Kaohsiung plant is an oil refining and petrochemical production facility that handles around 220,000 bpd of crude. The company's Dalin refinery has offshore and onshore loading/unloading capability and handles around 300,000 bpd of crude. CPC's Taoyuan Refinery has a capacity of around 200,000 bpd.
CPC offers natural gas for domestic power generation purposes, co-generation purposes, industrial users, and to household consumers. The company imports natural gas from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Qatar through long-term agreements; and from the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, Egypt, and Nigeria through mid-term and short-term master agreements.
The company's marketing business division is involved in the domestic sale of oil products that includes automotive gasoline, aviation fuel, diesel fuel, and fuel oil. The company operates around 2,500 filling stations in Taiwan, of which, 612 are directly operated by CPC, six are operated cooperatively by CPC with other parties, and 1,360 are franchised to private operators. In addition to its network of gasoline stations, CPC through its storage and transportation operation supplies other fuel to operating aviation fueling stations at Sungshan, Taoyuan, Taichung, Hualien, Taitung, Kaohsiung, Kinmen and Magong airports and international marine bunkering stations at Keelung, Su-ao, Taichung, Kaohsiung and Hualien harbors. The company also maintains 35 fishing-boat filling stations around Taiwan's coastline.
CPC under other business offers lubricants, chemicals and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The company also offers biotechnology products in Vietnam and China.
