Columbus McKinnon Corporation (CMC) is a US based company, which designs, manufactures and markets material handling products for commercial and industrial markets. The company operates in the Americas, South Africa, Asia and Europe. The company's products include hoists, chain and rigging tools, industrial cranes, actuators and rotary unions, digital power control and delivery systems, elevator application drive systems and other. CMC manufactures a variety of hoists including electric chain hoists, electric wire rope hoists, hand-operated hoists, winches, hoist trolleys, lever tools and air-powered hoists. These products are sold under the following brands: Budgit, Chester, CM, Coffing, Little Mule, Pfaff, Shaw-Box, STAHL, Yale and others. These hoists are sold for use in various general industrial applications, and for use in the construction, energy, mining, food services, entertainment and other markets. CMC supplies hoist trolleys, driven manually or by electric motors, that are used in conjunction with hoists. In FY2017, the Hoists segment reported revenues of USD357.4 million, which accounted for 56.1% of the company's total revenue. The company also offers various lines of standard and custom-designed, below-the-hook tooling, clamps and textile strappings. Below-the-hook tooling, textile and chain slings and associated forgings, and clamps are used in a variety of lifting activities performed in conjunction with hoisting or lifting applications. CMC's chain and rigging tools portfolio includes alloy and carbon steel chain that are used for various industrial and consumer applications. CMC also produces a line of alloy and carbon steel closed-die forged attachments including hooks, shackles, hammerloks, and master links. These forged attachments are used in chain, wire rope and textile rigging applications in a variety of industries, including transportation, mining, construction, marine, logging, petrochemical and agriculture. It also offers a variety of eye, shank and ramshorn lifting hooks to global vertical markets, such as oil and gas, mining, construction and heavy equipment industries. In FY2017, the Chain and rigging tools segment reported revenues of USD71.8 million, which accounted for 11.3% of the company's total revenue. In addition, the company manufactures carbon steel forged and stamped products, such as load binders, logging tools and other securing devices, for sale to the industrial and logging markets through industrial distributors, hardware distributors, mass merchandiser outlets and OEMs (original equipment manufacturers). CMC provides industrial cranes including overhead bridges, jib cranes and gantry cranes for industrial applications under the brands such as CES, Abell-Howe and Washington Equipment. In FY2017, the industrial cranes segment reported revenues of USD29.2 million, which accounted for 4.6% of the company's total revenue. The company designs and manufactures mechanical and electromechanical actuators, and rotary unions through its Duff-Norton and Pfaff divisions. Its actuators and rotary unions are used in a variety of industries including the transportation, paper, steel, energy, aerospace and many other commercial industries. Rotary unions are used in a variety of industries including pulp and paper, printing, textile and fabric manufacturing, rubber and plastic. In FY2017, the Actuators and rotary unions segment reported revenues of USD67.5 million, which accounted for 10.6% of the company's total revenue. CMC's digital power control and delivery systems provides power control and delivery systems and solutions for overhead material handling applications used in a number of diverse industries, including aerospace, automotive, steel, aluminum, paper, logging, mining, ship loading, nuclear power plants, and heavy movable structures. The company is supplier of power and motion control systems, which include AC and DC drive systems, radio remote controls, push button pendant stations, brakes, and collision avoidance and power delivery subsystems in North America. In FY2017, the Digital power control and delivery systems segment reported revenues of USD78.7 million, which accounted for 12.3% of the company's total revenue. The company also manufactures and markets overhead aluminum light rail workstations used in automotive and other industrial applications. CMC's elevator application drive system designs, builds, sells and supports elevator application-specific drive products which deliver power used to control motion, primarily in high-rise, high-speed elevator applications. In FY2017, the Elevator application drive systems segment reported revenues of USD22.0 million, which accounted for 3.5% of the company's total revenue. The company's other products include tire shredders. The company develops and patents a line of heavy equipment that shred whole tires, for use in recycling the various components of a tire including: rubber and steel. These recycled products are also used as aggregate, playgrounds, sports surfaces, landscaping and other such applications, and scrap steel. In FY2017, the Other segment reported revenues of USD10.6 million, which accounted for 1.7% of the company's total revenue. Geographically, the company classifies its operations into five segments, namely the US, Europe, Canada, Asia Pacific and Latin America. In FY2017, the US segment accounted for 64.2% of the company's total revenues, followed by Europe with 26.5%; Canada with 3.1%; Asia Pacific with 2.2%; and Latin America with 4.0%. CMC operates through various subsidiaries including Columbus McKinnon France S.a.r.l.; Columbus McKinnon de Mexico, S.A. de C.V.; Columbus McKinnon Do Brazil Ltda.; Columbus McKinnon (Hangzhou) Industrial Products Co. Ltd.; Columbus McKinnon Engineered Products GMBH; Columbus McKinnon Polska Sp.z.o.o; Columbus McKinnon Hungary Kft; Columbus McKinnon Italia S.R.L; Stahlhammer Bommern GmbH; and Unified Industries, Inc.
