CLP Holdings Limited (CLP Holdings or 'the company') operate a vertically-integrated electricity supply business providing electricity to 80% of Hong Kong's population. During FY2015, the company generated a total of 18,180 megawatts (MW) of electricity.

The company operates through its subsidiaries, jointly controlled entities, jointly controlled assets, and associated companies, in five major geographical regions, which include Australia, Hong Kong, India, the Chinese mainland, and Southeast Asia and Taiwan. The company's operating segments are based on these geographical regions.

In Australia, CLP Holdings operates through EnergyAustralia (formerly known as TRUenergy). EnergyAustralia is an integrated generation and retail electricity and gas business company. EnergyAustralia operate a balanced portfolio of self-owned generation capacity and capacity purchases. As of June 30 2016, EnergyAustralia's capacity amounted to 3,539 megawatts (MW). The company's asset portfolio includes coal, gas and wind generation as well as gas storage facilities. The company also services the electricity and gas needs of over 2.6 million customer accounts across Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales, the ACT and Queensland.

The company operates a vertically-integrated electricity supply business in Hong Kong, which includes generation, transmission and distribution, and retail, and serves 80% of the territory's population. Through its partnership with China Southern Power Grid in Castle Peak Power Company (CAPCO), the company operates the Castle Peak Power Station, the Black Point Power Station, and the Penny's Bay Power Station. The installed capacity of these three stations totaled 6,908 MW as of June 30, 2016. The company also imports power from Guangdong Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station. In addition, it manages nearly 15,100 kilometers of cable and more than 14,300 substations.

CLP Holdings' portfolio in Chinese Mainland includes coal and nuclear power, as well as renewable sources such as hydro, solar and wind. As of June 30, 2016, the company's investment in equity totaled 7960MW, with operations in Guangdong, Guizhou, Jilin, Shandong, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guangxi, Gansu, Jiangsu, Liaoning, Shaanxi, Tianjin, Hebei, Inner Mongolia and Shanghai.

In India, the company operates through its wholly-owned subsidiary, CLP India. The company's investments amounted to 3,049 equity MW as of June 30, 2016. The company invests in coal-fired and gas-fired generation. In addition to its existing wind and solar renewable energy portfolio of approximately 1,000 MW, the company is considering other opportunities such as transmission projects. The company's flagship power plant is a 655 MW gas-fired plant in Gujarat that has been in operation since 1998. The company also owns a 1,320 MW supercritical coal-fired power project at Jhajjar in the northern state of Haryana.

In Southeast Asia and Taiwan, CLP Holdings' investments in the region consist of the Ho-Ping coal-fired project and the Lopburi solar farm in Thailand, with an equity capacity amounting to 285 MW. CLP owns one-third of this project.

Additionally, the company is co-developing two coal-fired projects in Vietnam.
