The company operates through five business segments: watches and clocks, devices and components, machine tools, electronic products, and other products.
The watches and clocks segment manufactures and sells its products under the Citizen and other brand names. The segment's range of products include analog watches and clocks, radio-controlled watches and wristwatches. The company also manufactures watches using the Eco-Drive technology, which generates power from any light source and keeps the watches running with the help of rechargeable batteries. It also manufactures watches using Satellite Wave technology, a timekeeping technology that enables watches to receive time signals from global positioning system (GPS) satellites and display accurate time and date anywhere in the world.
The devices and components segment provides a wide range of electronic devices such as lighting light emitting diodes (LEDs), tactile switch, ultra-thin backlight units and other products. It also manufactures Quartz crystals and ferroelectric micro liquid crystal displays (LCDs), as well as automotive components, among others.
The machine tools segment develops machine tools for small size computer numerical controlled (CNC) automatic lathes and turning machines. Through these offerings, Citizen caters to the customers across various fields, including automobile, medical, information technology, hydraulics and construction equipment.
The electronic products segment includes consumer electronics, and information systems. Consumer electronics include health care products (digital blood pressure monitors, digital thermometers, and nebulizer), and calculators. Information systems include digital photo printers, line thermal printers, line thermal kiosk printers, dot impact printers, and barcode label printers, among others.
The other products segment comprises other businesses such as manufacture and sale of jewelry, including marriage rings and other jewelry, and leisure services such as ice skating, bowling, tennis and rental space.
