Carillion plc is an integrated support services business group. The group provides a range of integrated solutions for infrastructure, buildings and services. It provides its services in the areas, including health, education and regeneration, road, rail, defense and commercial property. It holds investments in Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects with a portfolio of construction capabilities.

The group provides concept to ongoing facilities management and support services to its customers. The group operates in Europe, Canada, the Middle East, North Africa and Caribbean. The group operates through four business segments: support services, public private partnership (PPP) projects, Middle East construction services, and construction services (excluding the Middle East). Carillion's support services segment is engaged in providing facilities management, facilities services, energy services, road maintenance, rail services, utility services and consultancy businesses.

The group provides facilities management and other support services for over 150,000 properties. Carillion's specialist services provide education services, probation services, cultural/heritage services, library services, police services and fleet management.

The group provides business services such as customer experience, front/back office support and project management. Carillion's provides infrastructure services such as roads, railways, public utility services and consultancy business. As of December 2016, the support services segment recorded revenues of £2,712.7 million ($3,502.14 million), an increase of 7% over FY2015. The group is involved in the PPP projects in the UK and Canada. Carillion delivers PPP projects for government buildings and infrastructure, mainly in the defence, health, education, transport and secure accommodation sectors. Some of the group's PPP projects include Allenby Connaught, Southmead Hospital, Forensic Service and Coroners Complex, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and Sault Area Hospital, among others.

The PPP segment recorded revenues of £313 million ($404.1 million) in FY2016, an increase of 62.3% over FY2015. The Middle East construction services segment is engaged in building and civil engineering activities in the Middle East and North Africa. Some of the group's Middle East construction projects include: a new headquarters for the Abu Dhabi Investment Council, the Al Mueera development, New York University campus on Saadiyat Island, an Emirates Aluminum Plant in Abu Dubai; infrastructure works for Dubai Aluminum, construction of residential towers that form part of the Downtown Burj Dubai developments in Dubai; The Royal Opera House, the Majlis (a new parliament building), the National Museum and Muscat Court Complex, new facilities at Muscat Airport in Oman; a phase of the Msheireb Downtown Doha project (a mixed-use development comprising retail, commercial, residential, leisure, cultural and community facilities) in Qatar; and Cairo Festival City development project in Egypt. The Middle East construction services segment recorded revenues of £668.3 million ($862.8 million) in FY2016, an increase of 11.1% over FY2015.

The group's construction services (excluding the Middle East) segment includes Carillion building, civil engineering and developments businesses and construction activities in Canada, and construction services for railways and roads. Its construction services projects in the UK include: Twickenham Rugby Stadium (Mowlem), Tate Modern (Carillion), Canary Wharf underground station (Tarmac Construction), the Channel Tunnel (Tarmac Construction and Wimpey Construction), and the Thames Barrier (Tarmac Construction). Carillion's major projects in Canada include the Royal Ottawa Hospital and Sault Area Hospital, a new Forensic Services and Coroners' Complex in Toronto, and refurbishment and extension of Union Station in Toronto.

The construction services (excluding the Middle East) segment recorded revenues of £1,520.2 million ($1962.6 million) in FY2016, an increase of 20.8% over FY2015. Carillion Services is an independent energy services provider and one of the installers of renewable technologies in the UK. CES delivers some of the UK's renewable energy and green technology solutions on behalf of the government, public and private sector organizations. The group's subsidiaries include the following: Carillion (AMBS) Ltd, Carillion (Aspire Construction) Holdings No 2 Ltd, Carillion (Aspire Services) Holdings No 2 Ltd, Carillion Alawi LLC, Carillion Canada Inc and Carillion CR Ltd.
