Company Overview:

Aboitiz Power Corporation, through its subsidiaries and affiliates, is involved in the business of power generation and distribution. The company is a subsidiary of Aboitiz Equity Ventures (AEV). Aboitiz Power also provides electricity related services. It operates in the Philippines. The company operates through three segments: Power Generation, Power Distribution, and Parent Company and Others.

Aboitiz Power's Power Generation segment is engaged in the generation and supply of power to various customers under power supply contracts, ancillary service procurement agreements and for trading in WESM. In FY2016, the Power Generation segment reported revenues of PHP51,469.2 million, which accounted for 57.7% of the company's total revenue. The company's Power Distribution segment is engaged in the distribution and sale of electricity to the end-users. In FY2016, the Power Distribution segment reported revenues of PHP44,666.1 million, which accounted for 50.1% of the company's total revenue.

Aboitiz Power's Parent Company and Others segment, includes the operations of the company, retail electricity sales to various off takers that are considered to be customers and electricity related services, such as installation of electrical equipment. In FY2016, the Parent Company And Others segment reported revenues of PHP11,749.4 million, which accounted for 13.2% of the company's total revenue, including eliminations and adjustments. The company's hydroelectric power generation assets include 105 MW (megawatts) Ambuklao project; the Binga project operated by AP Renewables, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company; and the Bakun plant, a 70-MW run-of-river hydroelectric power station constructed as a build, operate, transfer project by Luzon Hydro Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company. Aboitiz Power owns the Benguet 1-10 hydroelectric plants located in different parts of Benguet province in northern Philippines.

These plants use three types of turbines: Pelton, Francis, and Turgo operated by Hedcor. The company also owns Magat plant, a 360-MW hydroelectric power plant owned and operated by SN Aboitiz Power-Magat, a joint venture between Aboitiz Power and SN Power Invest of Norway. The Davao 1-5 hydroelectric plants have a combined capacity of 4 MW that use either Pelton or Francis turbines.

The plants are owned and operated by Hedcor, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company. It owns the Sibulan plant, a 42 MW hydroelectric power plant owned and operated by Hedcor Sibulan, and owns the Tiwi Makban geothermal plant located in Albay Province in the Bicol region operated by AP Renewables, Inc. Through its subsidiaries, the company owns the Pagbilao plant, a coal-fired plant administrated by Therma Luzon; the Mobile 3-6 Navotas facilities, the barge-mounted power plants operated by Therma Mobile; the Cebu plant, a 70-MW Bunker C-fired power plant consisting of land-based diesel heavy fuel oil (HFO)-fired engines operated by Cebu Private Power Corporation; the Mactan plant, a 50-MW Bunker C-fired power plant, which consists of land-based diesel HFO-fired engines operated by East Asia Utilities Corporation; and the Toledo plant, a 246-MW coal-fired plant operated by Cebu Energy Development Corporation (CEDC). Aboitiz Power also owns the Mindanao plant, a 232-MW coal-fired power plant built under a build-operate-transfer arrangement. The plant's off taker is the National Power Corporation and is operated by STEAG State Power.

The company owns the Zamboanga plant, a 100-MW Bunker C-fired power station, which is operated by The Western Mindanao Power Corporation; the Cotabato plant, a 7-MW bunker C-fired stand-by plant, operated by Cotabato Light & Power Co.; the Davao plant, a 53-MW bunker C-fired stand-by plant operated by Davao Light & Power Co.; and the General Santos plant, a 55-MW Bunker C-fired power plant operated by the Southern Philippines Power Corporation, among others.

The company also owns interests in several distribution utilities in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, including the Visayan Electric Company and Davao Light and Power Corporation, which are privately-owned distribution utilities in the Philippines. Aboitiz Power's other distribution utilities are Subic Enerzone Corporation, Mactan Enerzone Corporation, Balamban Enerzone Corporation, and San Fernando Electric Light and Power Company.
